Another DEM Sports concertina net cage was unveiled at Cubitt Town School on The Isle of Dogs

The school received a couple of special visitors – just in time for The Ashes.

The Canary Wharf Group has donated a cricket net to the school, which will allow pupils to enjoy playing cricket with no danger of smashing a window.

Its innovative, fold-away design means playground space isn’t lost to a single sport.

Devon was on hand with another ex England Test star, Alex Tudor, to teach pupils some cricketing skills.

Canary Wharf Group strategic advisor Howard Dawber said: “The net is a brilliant solution for schools that don’t have much space, as it can be packed away.

“The fact these kids can play cricket when once they probably weren’t able to due to space is fantastic. This is about more than just a cricket net.”

Thanks to Canary Wharf Group’s generous funding support, DEM Sports Concertina Net cages can be supplied free of charge to all schools in the borough. Please contact us for further details.
